# Night Porter > Night Porter handles your pull requests while you're away. It's like an IRC bouncer for your PRs: > a small daemon on your own machine watches GitHub and GitLab for review comments, failing CI and > merge conflicts on your PRs and MRs, then runs a coding agent (Claude Code or OpenCode) on your > local clone to deal with them, within the rules you set. Open source (MIT or Apache-2.0), written > in Rust, for macOS and Linux (Windows experimental). Key facts: - It polls the forges (no webhooks, no public endpoint) and only acts on repos you subscribe to. - Comments from people you don't trust wait in an inbox; untrusted text never reaches the agent unless you allow it. - The agent works in a separate git worktree and never holds forge credentials. Night Porter does the pushing and replying. - Pre-push checks (secrets, protected files, history rewrites) always run. Dependency and size changes can require approval. - Autonomy levels: `observe` (notify), `suggest` (commit locally, you copy/paste), `draft` (you approve each push), `auto` (pushes on its own). - It never merges, force-pushes, closes or approves. - Works with herdr and Rex: take over any job interactively with a briefed agent. Install: `brew install night-porter/tap/nightporter`, the install script from GitHub Releases, or `cargo install nightporter --locked`. Then `nightporter setup` (wizard), `nightporter doctor`, and `nightporter` (TUI). ## Docs - [Getting started](https://docs.night-porter.com/getting-started): install, setup wizard, autonomy levels - [Daily use](https://docs.night-porter.com/daily-use): the TUI, approving jobs, the inbox, CLI commands - [Configuration reference](https://docs.night-porter.com/configuration): every setting - [Threat model](https://docs.night-porter.com/threat-model): what Night Porter protects against, and how - [Full docs as one file](https://docs.night-porter.com/llms-full.txt): every docs page in plain Markdown ## Project - [Source on GitHub](https://github.com/night-porter/nightporter) - [Releases](https://github.com/night-porter/nightporter/releases) - [One-pager](https://night-porter.com/onepager) - [Support](https://night-porter.com/support) ## Optional - [Privacy](https://night-porter.com/privacy) - [Terms](https://night-porter.com/terms)
